For example, if you are about to launch a new product you can define a workgroup with personnel from marketing, sales, manu­facturing, publications and engineering. Documents and discussions can then be restricted to that group. After a successful product launch, the workgroup can be disbanded. All this without the intervention of IS.

Newsletters that aren’t stale – Not only can you have news about the organization in a timely manner, almost anyone has the skills necessary to post a news item. Again, final posting is at the discretion of the newsletter’s editor. Items are automatically formatted into the correct newsletter. Newsletters can be generated on a company wide, department or workgroup basis. If you specify that an article is to be published for a limited time, the system automatically removes the article at the sched­uled time.

 Purchase requisitions that aren’t lost on an approver’s desk – After a purchase request is entered into IntranetPlus, it’s automatically routed to everyone in the approval chain. Routing is controlled by the approval level of each member in the organizational chain. And, if you wonder why you haven’t received you gizmo yet, you can run a track request to see in whose inbox your request is sitting.
