By selecting Login below, you can take a tour of an intranet for a mythical
company called Marin Routers. In order to make it easier to follow the workflow component of IntranetPlus, the structure of the company is shown below.
You will be logged in as Joe Guest in the Hardware Engineering Department. You will be able to perform all the functions that a normal user can perform and note how the system responds. For example if you enter a purchase request for a small item (less than $100) the purchase request will be routed directly to a purchasing agent. If the request is for a larger item the request will be routed to Bill Lee for approval. You can follow all these actions by using the Request command. Joe has been assigned rights as a contributor to the "Engineering Documents" section of the "Information Center", you can upload documents to this area. In order to give you immediate feedback, we have configured this area for immediate publication (no authorization by an editor is required before the document is added). Selecting Help from the menu in the left frame and then Taking a Tour from the Help index, will provide information on additional functions that are available to Joe Guest. For additional information on how to perform functions, you can use the Help link at top left hand corner of most pages. |
