IntranetPlus Features

News - An intranet is a potentially powerful tool to disseminate current information to everyone in your organization.  However until the advent of IntranetPlus, this potential was usually not realized. Since publishing information required the services of a webmaster, the information was often out-of-date before it appeared on your intranet. It was also a costly process.  Now with IntranetPlus publishing of information on the intranet can be distributed across an organization to personnel with limited computer skills.  IntranetPlus handles the formatting of the articles into a newspaper-like format and ensures that out-of-date articles are automatically removed from your news pages.  News can be separated into general, department and workgroup specific sections.  Further the articles can be specified as available for general viewing or restricted to members of a specific department or newsgroup.  Each news section is configured with authorized contributors.  If an editor is designated for the section, all information is routed to the editor for review before it is published for general viewing.  The routing of documents for review is handled automatically by IntranetPlus.

Documents - Although almost all intranets provide a place where users can access widely-used company documents, they provide almost no services that contribute to the rapid addition and updating of these documents.  IntranetPlus solves this problem by providing powerful distributed content management tools. The first step in configuring IntranetPlus to receive your documents, is to define the classification of documents (policies and procedures, human resources, travel, etc.) that will reside on your intranet.  Then for each classification, you specify the users who can author material for the classification and optionally an editor who will have final responsibility for publishing the documents for general viewing.  All this without any HTML; and you're ready to start publishing information to your intranet.  Adding content is as easy as filling out a few simple forms.  IntranetPlus workflow capabilities automatically routes contributed documents during the approval process.

Organization Directory - In IntranetPlus, the Organization Directory is much more than just a listing of telephone numbers accessible from a browser.  In addition to an organization-wide directory, you can generate directories for individual departments in the organization.  Clicking on a user's name displays more detailed information about the user.  Selected areas of the extended information are based on user entered information.  A user message area is also included in the extended information area.  Often this area is used as an in/out message area to inform other intranet users of the schedule and whereabouts of a user.

Purchasing-The purchasing application automates the purchasing process from requisition to placing an order.  The user has the option of entering information directly on an electronic requisition form or selecting items from the organizations catalog of standard items and having them automatically transferred to the requisition form.  Items can be added to the requisition form over a period of time until the user is ready to send it to purchasing.

Travel Expenses - The Travel Expenses application provides the tools necessary accept on-line expense reports and automatically routes the reports to the appropriate personnel.

Timesheets - The Timesheet application accepts timesheet information and routes the reports to appropriate members of the organization for approvals and processing.

Contacts - Not only does the Contacts application provides a place for users to keep a list of their contacts, it also provides the capability to share contact information.  Contacts can be specified as private, shared by department or available for viewing by the entire organization.
